Where is ThreatPoint training held?
ThreatPoint training courses are held all over the world. Courses that are contracted by a particular agency, are often held at that agencies’ location. We also routinely host open enrollment courses at our ThreatPoint training facility in Las Vegas, Nevada. Please check the registration page of a course to determine where it is being held and/or to inquire about having your agency host a ThreatPoint course in your city.
What clothing should I bring to training?
ThreatPoint courses are held in a classroom setting and as such, we recommend students wear business or “smart casual” attire. Of course, if your agency has a different standard (i.e. uniform of the day, collared shirt, etc.), we recommend you follow that.
What certificates will I earn upon completion of your courses?
All ThreatPoint courses include a certification of attendance. Additionally, the Counter Terrorism Certification Course includes a professional certification for those who pass the related exam. This professional certification is intended to show successful completion and competency in the main concepts taught during this particular course.
How does lodging work while attending your courses?
Students will receive lodging and travel recommendations upon registering for an open enrollment course. These recommendations will help you decide on the arrangements that are most suitable for the location of the training facility however, the actual arrangements are the responsibility of the student. If the course is hosted by an agency, than that agency will be responsible for informing students about lodging if needed.

A hosted course is offered at 15% below the standard rate, which can save your agency a significant amount of money. Hosting a course is also much more effective than sending individual personnel out of state for training, where the benefit is limited to the individual and the cost is generally higher. Check out the ThreatPoint Host a Course page for more information.

That is up to you. Depending on the course, we will suggest a student to instructor ratio but ultimately, you can select the classroom size during the agreement process. For more information, you can request a quote by submitting a request through the course registration pages, emailing us at Info@ThreatPoint.net, or by clicking here.
Is the training restricted?
Some ThreatPoint courses are restricted due to the sensitivity of the material discussed. At ThreatPoint, we strive to teach the most advanced and current practices that prevent crime and terrorism. In doing so, some of the content we provide is unclassified but restricted to law enforcement, homeland security, or private security personnel. However, we also have a number of courses that are open to private and community organizations. Please check the ThreatPoint Course Catalog to determine if a respective course is restricted.
Can I use grant funds to pay for a course?
Yes, as long as it falls within your agency’s procedures and approval process. Many of our clients use grant funds or training budgets to purchase a course for their agency and/or to send personnel to an open enrollment course that is scheduled out of state. We recommend you contact your training or grants coordinator for approval. Please feel free to download the ThreatPoint Course Catalog or course descriptions if needed for your approval packet.
